Nowadays, companies looking not only to reduce their costs but also to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, have found an effective solution by adopting electricity in the Free Contracting Environment (ACL). This change not only brings economic benefits but also allows companies to make a difference in climate change. In this article, we explore the Sustainable PROFILE Program and how participation in this program contributes to our sustainable journey at Courovale.
What is the Sustainable PROFILE program?
Developed in partnership between Perfil Energia and Ecovalor Consultoria em Sustentabilidade, the PERFIL Sustentável Program is an initiative aimed at companies wishing to align their emission reduction targets with the cost efficiency of the Free Contracting Environment. The program certifies organizations that have migrated to this environment and, in doing so, have stopped emitting greenhouse gasses, by the principles established in the Kyoto Protocol.
Advantages of the Free Contracting Environment (FCA):
In the Free Contracting Environment (ACL), companies have the opportunity to reduce their energy costs, while simultaneously contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions. Replacing energy matrices based on fossil fuels with renewable sources such as wind, solar and biomass leads to a considerable reduction in atmospheric emissions. This double benefit translates into economic and environmental gains.
Benefits of the Sustainable PROFILE Program:
The Sustainable PROFILE Program not only assesses the energy environmental impact of companies but also opens doors to new business opportunities related to sustainability and climate change. It guides organizations in adopting sustainable practices and technologies, strengthening their corporate approach. In addition, participation in the program generates value by enabling communication and marketing strategies focused on sustainability.
Entering the PERFIL Sustentável Program is accessible to companies that consume energy on the ACL through Perfil Energia. After joining, a diagnosis of energy consumption is carried out by ABNT NBR ISO 14064:2007. This makes it possible to estimate the GHG emissions avoided, illustrating the environmental gain obtained by migrating to renewable sources.
Courovale and the Sustainable PROFILE label
Courovale is proud to carry the seal of the Sustainable PROFILE Program. By migrating to the Free Contracting Environment and reducing GHG emissions, we have reaffirmed our commitment to making a difference, showing that it is possible to achieve business success without compromising the well-being of the planet.
Thanks to joining the FTA, only in 2022, Courovale stopped emitting 28.46 tons of CO² into nature, which is equivalent to 1,294 trees or 11,976 liters of diesel fuel. Therefore, achieving the Sustainable PROFILE seal is not just a milestone for Courovale, but a reflection of our vision as a company.
By aligning the management of GHG emissions with the precepts of the Kyoto Protocol, we have not only adopted a responsible organizational model, but we have also contributed to building a more sustainable world.
