Pioneering spirit and commitment to development through sustainable production. These are one of the pillars that form and mold Courovale today. And it was from them and from a joint work that we received the Diamond seal for the Brazilian Leather Sustainability Certification (CSCB), from the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB).
This is the first Diamond certification awarded to a Brazilian tannery. Until then, Courovale, along with three other companies, was part of the group with the Gold seal. From now on, this seal confirms our commitment to sustainability, making Courovale the first tannery in Brazil with such brand recognition, as well as a milestone for the leather industry.
To reach this achievement, Courovale reached 100% of the criteria required by ABNT NBR 16296, audited by INMETRO. Among the more than one hundred practices and indicators required for certification are the reduction of water and energy consumption, product quality control, traceability, restricted substances and worker health and safety.
Courovale will still undergo a schedule of audits, evaluations and certifications in the coming years to maintain the Diamond seal. The process will have analyses, ideas and suggestions to inspire the entire leather chain and industry in Brazil. In short: Courovale thus becomes a reference for other companies and tanneries.
“This achievement strengthens our credibility with the national and international market. And it also gives us the certainty of having fulfilled our duties and recognition for our dedication”, highlights Solange Pauletti, administrative manager, along with Rafael Emílio Collet, director, and Verônica Meurer, commercial manager.
In a time open to innovations and changes in behavior, in addition to a growing search for sustainable products, we thank everyone who contributed to foster Courovale’s history and our commitment with the environment. To learn more about our sustainability policy, visit our page!
